The Children's Council: the voice of youth at the heart of our mission

Established on May 28, 2023, the Children’s Council of the Fondation des Gouverneurs de l’espoir was born from a simple but powerful dream: to give young people a voice in a cause that affects them deeply.

Composed of young people aged 11 to 15 from diverse backgrounds—some in remission, others marked by loss, or simply driven by a strong desire to help—the Council brings together children and adolescents who wish to take concrete action to improve the lives of other children.

A unique mission: inspire, act, transform

The Council’s mandate is clear: to proudly represent the Foundation to those around them and to mobilize their community to organize awareness and fundraising activities for sick children. But their role goes much further.

They are committed to transmitting values of solidarity, generosity, collaboration, and creativity, and to positively influencing the youth of their generation. They participate in decisions, share their opinions, propose ideas, and carry out concrete projects.

Through their commitment, they develop self-confidence, leadership, empathy, and resilience—valuable qualities that will stay with them throughout their lives.

By welcoming the Children’s Council, the foundation wishes to give them a concrete opportunity to get involved, collaborate, and positively influence their peers.

*Thank you to Benjamin, Léa, and Olivia-Rose, who were part of the very first council and have passed the torch to new members for 2025-2026.

Concrete accomplishments with real meaning

A fragrance for hope

For their very first mission, the Council members participated in creating the Foundation’s first perfume, in collaboration with LOOKY. They chose the scents, approved the design, and signed off on this unique fragrance launched at the Bal des Gouverneurs in November 2023.

In the spring of 2024, more than 650 pharmacies in Quebec featured the perfume and its packaging, both born from their creativity.

The Bal de Ti-Pou: their big celebration

They dreamed of an event that would put children in the spotlight. The Bal de Ti-Pou, imagined by the Council, was launched in April 2024, followed by a second edition in 2025. The 3rd edition is scheduled for April 19, 2026.

The young members chose the themes and activities, and insisted that the families supported by the Foundation be at the heart of the celebration. In April 2025, 11 families experienced a magical day filled with laughter, kindness, and wonder.

A signature log cake made with heart

In the fall of 2024 and 2025, the youth had the honor of tasting and approving the Signature log cake created by Première Moisson twice, to benefit the Foundation. Another great success to their credit.

Why believe in them?

Because kindness is learned early

When children engage concretely in a cause close to their hearts, they develop lasting values, a sense of purpose, and a deep understanding of the world around them.

Because the bonds created are transformative

Working together on concrete projects fosters self-esteem, leadership, and the development of sincere relationships. It also contributes to better mental and emotional health.

Because they are the adults of tomorrow

The habits and values they integrate today will guide their choices and commitments for the rest of their lives.

A springboard for youth, an inspiration for all

The Children’s Council is not just a group of young volunteers. It is the living reflection of a kind, bright, and committed generation.
