For the past 6 years, the Foundation has had the great privilege of having Patrice Bélanger as a proud volunteer spokesperson.
In addition to being a Governor himself, Patrice is involved in speaking about the Foundation in the media and fundraising. He hosts most of the Foundation’s events, so you’ll have the chance to meet him often!
I still remember the exact moment when I first heard the testimony of a family supported by the Foundation. It struck me deeply. I was speechless... me! Imagine! How can a parent, going through the agonizing journey of having a seriously ill child, find the time and energy to keep working to pay the bills, the mortgage, and even the essentials for food? It's inhuman, and it takes an incredible strength to even think of managing it. The serious illness of a child has repercussions on the entire family. It's about daily sacrifices, dreams or ambitions put on hold. It is constantly grieving as we fight to live, plain and simple. I have held the Fondation des Gouverneurs de l’espoir in my heart for a few years now. One cannot remain indifferent when it crosses our path. It automatically resonates with us, and we cannot help but want to contribute.
