Created on May 28, 2023, the Children’s Council of the Fondation des Gouverneurs de l’espoir was born from a simple yet powerful dream: giving young people a voice in a cause that deeply affects them.
Composed of youth aged 11 to 16 with diverse backgrounds — some in remission, others shaped by loss, and all driven by a strong desire to help — the Council brings together children and teens who want to make a real difference in the lives of others.
A Unique Mission
Inspire, Act, Transform
The Council’s mandate is clear: proudly represent the Foundation in their communities and rally their peers to organize awareness and fundraising activities for sick children. But their role goes far beyond that.
They are committed to spreading values of solidarity, generosity, collaboration, and creativity — and to positively influencing the young people of their generation. They take part in decisions, share their opinions, suggest ideas, and lead tangible projects.
Through their involvement, they develop self-confidence, leadership, empathy, and resilience — precious qualities that will follow them throughout their lives.
By welcoming the Children’s Council, the Foundation is offering them a meaningful opportunity to get involved, collaborate, and positively influence their peers.
*Thank you to Benjamin, Léa, Olivia-Rose and Victoria who were part of the very first Council and have now passed the torch to the 2025–2026 members.
For their very first mission, Council members helped create the Foundation’s first-ever perfume in partnership with LOOKY. They selected the scents, approved the design, and signed this unique fragrance, launched at the Bal des Gouverneurs in November 2023.
In spring 2024, more than 650 pharmacies across Quebec featured the fragrance and its packaging, both born from their creativity.
In fall 2024, the children were honoured to taste and approve the Signature Praliné Rustique log cake created by Première Moisson. Another sweet success to their credit.
When children get involved in a cause they care about, they develop lasting values, a sense of purpose, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Working together on real-life projects builds self-esteem, leadership, and genuine relationships. It also contributes to better mental and emotional health.
The habits and values they develop today will shape their choices and commitments for the rest of their lives.
The Children’s Council isn’t just a group of young volunteers. It’s a living reflection of a compassionate, bright, and engaged generation.
Through their ideas, voices, and actions, these young ambassadors make our mission more human, more tangible, and more powerful.
And they remind us that courage, generosity, and hope know no age.
