Ti-Pou
History of the Foundation Logo
Ti-Pou was drawn by 5-year-old François-Karl Viau when he was diagnosed with cancer. It was his family who created the FdGe in 2002 to support research and families.
When the Children’s Council was formed in May 2023, we presented the seven child members with a small Ti-Pou pin. Olivia-Rose’s (pictured right) first reaction was to refuse to wear the pin because she said she was afraid of Ti-Pou with his sharp teeth! Her reaction made us see something we’d never seen before. It took a child to open our eyes!
We listened to Olivia-Rose and softened Ti-Pou’s smile. That’s why the Governors’ pin was renewed in 2024 and why the FdGe logo is now the “soft” version that no longer scares children!
