The Foundation improves the well-being of seriously ill children and their families across Quebec.

Our Services

Financial Assistance

The FdGe provides financial assistance to Quebec families whose child, aged 0 to 18, is undergoing treatment for cancer or is suffering from a life-threatening serious illness, and who are experiencing loss of income due to the child’s illness.

Support

Every month, dozens of hours are dedicated to monitoring the needs of families so that our actions are constructive and positive, and truly contribute to the well-being of the entire family.

Even More

Thanks to the generosity of donors and partners, we can regularly enhance the well-being of our families by providing them with outings, meals, services, and plenty of little treats that bring comfort.

Who is our Aid Intended for?

Eligibility Criteria

  • The child must have cancer or a serious, life-threatening illness and be under 18 years of age (0-17 years).
  • The child must be undergoing treatment and/or have a diagnosis, and must present a referral letter from a physician.
  • The parent must have experienced a loss of income due to the child’s illness.
  • The parent must complete the application form, providing the requested supporting documents.
  • The family must be residents of Quebec. Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency must be provided at the time of application. Any application not accompanied by this proof is subject to refusal.
  • Regular follow-up is conducted with families admitted to the program.

What is the Amount of Financial Assistance?

The amount of financial assistance depends on the revenue deficit and can reach $1000 per month for up to 18 months for cases of serious illness or for as long as the child is undergoing cancer treatment.

We never provide cash: we provide financial assistance in the form of gift cards for groceries, gasoline, pharmacy, and everyday purchases, or we directly pay bills.

We also provide supplements at back-to-school time, Christmas, and children’s birthdays, including siblings.

In 2024, we have supported 113 families from all over Quebec.

In March 2025, we're supporting
