Powering Hope Through Sports
Since its creation, the Fondation des Gouverneurs de l’espoir has brought people together through sports, sparking genuine enthusiasm and solidarity. Pushing limits, pursuing a shared goal, and supporting one another are at the heart of the sporting spirit so dear to our mission.
In 2025, more than ever, our sports initiatives will play a vital role in advancing our mission.
The Grenadiers U18 AAA: A Strong Commitment to Our Youth
Pairing
Since 2020, Grenadiers U18 AAA players have been paired with children supported by the Foundation. This partnership offers a profoundly enriching human experience, with admiration and inspiration flowing both ways: The children see the players as role models and friends.

Hope Match
Every year, the Match de l’espoir is a highlight of this partnership. On February 7, families met their players in person, sharing a deeply moving moment of solidarity. A lasting commitment: This partnership will continue until 2030, with an annual donation of $10,000. By the end of the agreement, team owner and Governor Michel Parent will have donated over $100,000 to the Foundation.
MaxFit: Pushing Limits for a Cause
Since 2019, Chantal St-Gelais and Yan Joseph, owners of Zone Sportive in Sainte-Catherine, have been organizing MaxFit in support of the Foundation:
- Hours of physical challenge
- A unique team-building experience
- A powerful show of solidarity with families supported by the Foundation
As Chantal puts it:
“We have our health, but we never know who might face illness next. If we can share a bit of our strength with sick children who might not even be able to play outside this summer, then we’ve done something truly meaningful.“
Since 2019, this inspiring event has raised over $40,000 for the Foundation.
The 2025 edition will take place on September 27, 2025 in an exciting new format. Details to follow shortly.
Bromont Ultra: A Great Challenge for a Great Cause
In 2024, a team from Orä Partenaires took on an incredible challenge:
running 160 km in 24 hours, as a relay across the Bromont mountains!
Their determination and team spirit were remarkable, and the experience so unforgettable that the team will return for Bromont Ultra 2025. This year, new teams will join the adventure to raise even more funds for the Foundation.
In 2024, the Orä Partenaires team donated $10,000 to the Foundation, and several members have since become Governors of Hope.

Steve Bégin: A Governor With a Big Heart
Jean-Pierre Bédard: Our “Minister of Sports”
A Board member for the past three years, Jean-Pierre Bédard is an essential Governor, especially when it comes to sports-driven fundraising initiatives. Whether lending a hand at an event, organizing a fundraiser, or representing the Foundation on the field, Jean-Pierre is always there.
He plays a key role in our annual golf tournament and is a driving force behind the Foundation’s visibility through sports.
