Since 2020, players from each cohort have been paired with sick children supported by the Gouverneurs de l’espoir Foundation.
The primary mission of the Châteauguay Grenadiers M18AAA is to develop young student-athletes both academically and athletically. However, the organization also attaches great importance to the social involvement of its players.
That’s why, since the fall of 2020, players aged 15 to 17 in the Grenadiers M18AAA have been matched with a sick child. This sponsorship provides them with an enriching human experience on many levels.
The children are full of admiration for their player, while the players are impressed by the courage of their child suffering from cancer or another serious illness.
The five-year agreement has been renewed for a further five years, covering the years 2025-2030. In addition to twinning and other awareness and fraternization initiatives, this agreement provides for an additional donation of $50,000 over the next 5 years from club president Michel Parent.
Our young patients face incredible challenges every day, so to be a source of inspiration for field hockey players who also face major challenges does them a world of good. Having a sponsor who has to balance his studies with his passion for field hockey, but who still finds the time to write a note and check in, is worth its weight in gold for our kids.”
